FOCUS AND SCOPE

The Journal of Indonesian Society Empowerment (JISE) welcomes research that addresses key social issues through practical and sustainable solutions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Topics may span a variety of fields, including community development, education, technology, health, and social inclusion, with an emphasis on creating positive, long-term societal impact.

We encourage authors to submit work that explores the following thematic areas, contributing to the body of knowledge necessary for fostering sustainable and equitable development:

Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure		 Technological Innovation & Design for Social Impact Appropriate technology adoption, digital empowerment, technological accessibility, innovative solutions for community challenges, and design thinking applications in social work.

Methodological Approaches

JISE accepts the following types of contributions:

  • Empirical Research: Original quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods studies demonstrating community-based interventions and outcomes
  • Participatory Action Research: Community-engaged research with direct involvement of beneficiary populations
  • Case Studies & Best Practices: Detailed analysis of community service programs, implementation strategies, and lessons learned
  • Impact Evaluations: Assessment of program effectiveness, sustainability, and social outcomes
  • Conceptual & Policy Papers: Reflective scholarship advancing theory and practice in community empowerment and social development

Geographic & Sectoral Focus

While prioritizing the Indonesian context, JISE welcomes submissions from researchers working in the Global South and addressing similar development challenges. Studies may focus on urban, rural, or peri-urban settings, and may address multiple sectors including health, education, economic development, technology, governance, and social services.
