ARCHIVE POLICY
The Journal of Communication Research (JCR) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of its published content. To safeguard against data loss and ensure continued access to the journal's archives, JCR participates in trusted digital archiving initiatives.
LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe)
JCR utilizes the LOCKSS program, which provides a decentralized, community-driven approach to preserving digital content. LOCKSS ensures that multiple copies of the journal’s articles are archived across different locations, protecting against data corruption, loss, or service interruptions.
- LOCKSS archives the journal’s content in various geographically distributed libraries and repositories, making sure that articles remain accessible even if the primary website is unavailable.
CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS)
JCR also participates in the CLOCKSS initiative, which is a partnership between publishers and libraries to ensure the long-term preservation of scholarly content. CLOCKSS is a reliable digital preservation system designed to keep scholarly materials accessible indefinitely.
- CLOCKSS offers a safety net by creating multiple copies of the journal’s content, which can be accessed in the event of a publisher’s failure or closure. It ensures that the journal’s archives are preserved and accessible to the scholarly community without interruption.
